You hear it all the time…
“A good start is half the battle”
“The mighty oak starts as a small acorn”
“To fix anything, you have to admit there is a problem”
“The hardest part is starting out”
“Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly at first.”
These all might be a bit cliche, but they’re true.
You don’t need to worry about conquering the world, just think about conquering one moment of the day.
If you want to build a habit, reach a goal, don’t stress about all the work that goes into making it to the end, just worry about starting and taking that next step in front of you.
What do you need to start?
Is it starting something to make yourself happier?
Or letting go of things you don’t enjoy?
Is it giving yourself permission to want and be more?
Or permission to be at peace with where you are at right now?
It can be easy to say to yourself that you’ll get around to it.
But, If it is important enough, you have to make the choice. Make a decision to start.
Remember, you don’t need to boil the ocean, you can just start with a cup of tea.
How’s that for a cliche.
