Let’s talk about self-care.
Self-care is the practice of treating yourself right which means anything from positive self-talk to cutting our negative people for your life, to playing your favorite sports.
At the end of the day, we are responsible for our own well being. To feel good and achieve great things, we need to be protective of our well being.
With that in mind here are a few tips to help you out.
Do things that make you feel good.
Do you play music, read, exercise or take long walks on the beach?
Bring these things into your everyday life and not just on the weekends or holidays.
Being who we are lifts our spirits and makes us feel much better.
Eat Healthy
Emotional eating and junk food give us that instant gratification hit but is gone within 30 seconds but eating healthy can have a lifetime of positive effects.
Keeping a healthy diet full of fruit and vegetables improves how you feel physically and mentally.
Just knowing you are eating healthy is great for your mental well being.
Stay Active
Staying physically active increases life expectancy, improves our resistance to depression and boosts our moods.
Take a break from social media
Doomscrolling is the practice of consuming negative news and getting FOMO on social media.
Don’t be afraid to put your phone down for a while and take in the environment around you.
Be kind to yourself
Take opportunities to be kind to yourself and others. Take a break from striving so hard and enjoy where you are.
Connect with Friends and Family
No one regrets maintaining positive relationships with friends and daily. Give back where you can, call friends and family and see how they are doing.
Finally, don’t put it off looking out for yourself.
Don’t ignore the indicators like stress, a deteriorating mood, sleepiness or generally feeling unwell. Proactively care for yourself because at the end of the day, only you can help yourself.
