I just want to show you a few tips on how to read more by tracking your reading habits with Rithm.
Reading has many benefits, from reducing stress to improving your memory and focus. Studies have shown that it can even help you slow down cognitive decline — such as dementia, memory loss, and Alzheimer’s.
So great way to improve your reading is to simply track how much reading you are currently doing, as the saying goes, what gets measured gets managed and what gets managed you can improve.
So in Rithm you can track your reading in a few ways, For me, my goal is to read 12 books this year, one book a month.
So I’m using the Photo proof tracker in Rithm for that. I’ve just finished Let my people go surfing by Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia founder – a great book for anyone interesting in business and sustainability.
So for this I just open the reading habit, press take photo, save And there we go, one more book down.
I’ve set a goal for that habit, like I said, to read 12 books before Dec 31st and you can see that in the goals section, see the progress and how many days remaining.
There are a few other ways you can track your reading by tracking the time you’ve read with a timer or amount of pages or chapters with a counter.
Let’s say you want to read for 30 minutes a day, you can do that by creating a reading habit and using the time tracker. Then just start the timer to see how long you’ve been reading or set the timer for whatever duration you want to read for. You can then set a goal for the amount of time you want to read, 30 mins a day, 10 hours a month etc.
Or if you want to read a specific number of chapters or pages, you can do that by using the counter, to track how many pages you’ve read. So you again create a reading habit, choose the counter and you can use this to count the number of pages you’ve read, chapters you’ve read etc. and like the other methods you can set a goal to specify how many pages you want to read in a day, week, month year etc.
Lastly, if you are feeling ambitious and you like to walk or swim while reading, you could use the GPS tracker to track how far you’ve walked while reading… ok we do not recommend that.
So quick recap – to read more, just track how much you are already reading, set some goals, and these little things will help motivate you to keep reading.
