Isaac Newton, a mathematician and physicist born in 1642 knew something very important about habits.
In his Law of Motion, he says that: “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by some outside force.”
This law is also known as the law of inertia or the law of momentum.
So how can that help us? Well you’ll tend to stay at rest on your couch watching Netflix unless you take some action.
But, as physics tells us, we don’t need to take massive action, we just need to get the ball rolling and we will tend to keep rolling.
(Not actually rolling, but you know what I mean).
We just need to get started.
What’s a habit or goal you are working on that is stuck and needs to get some momentum behind it?
Take 1 action and you just might find you’re working on it hours later.
Remember, an object in motion tends to stay in motion.
Let’s get going.
